In pursuit of our social goals and efforts to work for the integration and unity of Afghans in B.C. — we gather, we celebrate, and we grow together, one community at a time.
Who We Are
The Afghan National Cultural Society (ANCS) was founded by Afghans, for Afghans, in pursuit of our social goals and efforts to work for the integration and unity of Afghans in British Columbia.
We are a volunteer-led non-profit that brings together newcomers, established families, elders, and youth to preserve our language, celebrate our traditions, and support one another as we build our lives in Canada. Whether you've been here for decades or just arrived, ANCS is your home away from home.
What We Do
Three pillars guide our work; community, culture, and continuity — each reflected in the figures of our own emblem.
Settlement support, newcomer orientation, and mentorship that helps Afghan families put down roots across B.C.
Music, poetry, calligraphy, and language programs that keep Afghan tradition alive for the next generation.
Workshops, tutoring circles, and family events that connect Afghan youth with their roots and each other.
